KYIV UPDATE: TOGETHER OUR HANDS ARE GOD’S HANDS

27 Mar KYIV UPDATE: TOGETHER OUR HANDS ARE GOD’S HANDS

Imagine being the parents of a son who has a Belarusian passport and an expired Ukrainian residency visa submitted for renewal a few days before the conflict began. Then imagine having him tell his Momma that he’s not coming home; this is his country; these are his people. That’s what young Misha has done. We’ve known Misha since he was a newborn, praying for him on so many occasions and seeing God do awesome miracles in his life.

Today we find ourselves standing for this amazing young man once again. Like his parents, who currently live in Russia, he has a heart of compassion to help people. And that is exactly what we are doing together as partners. Your gifts have enabled us to donate $2,000 to assist him and his team in feeding 1,200-1,600 people a day in Kiev.

I’ve personally asked Misha, “How are you buying these groceries? Where do they come from?” His response was that the wholesalers are still actively supplying food for the general population, “As long as there is food we will feed the people.”

Misha states, “At the moment we feed people who need it: our police, people sitting in the subway, hospital workers, orphans, train conductors who take people out of dangerous places. There are also many pensioners (elderly people) and people with disabilities who cannot leave their homes. We support and help them.”

Please pray and agree with us for the safety of these young workers and this life-giving operation. We’ve been in contact with other missionaries and people who are using Kiev as a refuge from the fighting in the north. They come for a few days until they are able to move on to the west to a much safer destination.

These are personal stories for Kevin and me. I remember sitting in my prayer chair early one morning reading that Misha had made his decision to stay in Kyiv. He was not leaving. I felt the peace and grace of God come upon me in a tangible fashion. Please continue to pray with us for young Misha; he has a God given destiny to fulfill!

Every time we write these reports, I (Leslie) hold back the tears, knowing the great price so many are paying so that others may be helped! We recognize that YOU are making this possible! Together, our hands are God’s hands to those in need!
