CHRISTMAS SOCKS FOR UKRAINE!

23 Nov CHRISTMAS SOCKS FOR UKRAINE!

Greetings from Christian Adventures, Harvest 21 Estonia and Eagle Mission Norway. In the midst of difficulties here in the USA, we are actively assisting our international teams in preparation for the CHRISTMAS SOCKS project.

During November and December we will collect Christmas aid for the victims of hostilities in Ukraine and distribute it to our Ukrainian partners who are engaged in ministering to the refugees. The idea is to collect gift sets, along with a good pair of woolen socks, all tucked into a backpack to bring warmth to the hearts of those who are suffering, both children and adults. Current reports estimate than no less than 10 million people are without power, not including those who have intermittent power.

The gift packages are being set up for different age groups. As we review the contents we are reminded of Christmases past, when a pair of warm socks, an orange and maybe a small toy would be placed in the Christmas stocking hung above the fireplace. These small acts of kindness mean the world to thousands that you have already touched this year through the truckloads of seed-potatoes, personal and household goods as well, as biblical literature that you made available.

We remember our first trip to Ukraine where, in the midst of what appeared to be poverty, we found a people willing to share everything they had. They gave us the best of their present harvest along with tasty canned fruits and vegetables. We were overwhelmed by their generosity. Paul stated in Philippians Chapter 4, “I know how to live humbly, and I know how to abound. I am accustomed to any and every situation—to being filled and being hungry, to having plenty and having need. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”

To me this epitomizes the Ukrainian soul!

As you prepare for Thanksgiving may you find joy in everything you set your hands to! May the love of God be shed abroad in your hearts as you gather with family and friends.

Thank you for your prayers, text messages and donations.
