21 Dec THANKFUL!
As we approach 30 years of ministry and almost 20 years since the birth of the 100 Tent Project, we are reminded of a pivotal letter we received from our mentor, Dr. T.L. Osborn, 20 years ago. Following are some of the challenging and apostolic words he repeatedly stated that God was urgently inspiring him to write.
“You are a great example of a married couple espousing the truths of Redemption and of Equality. These are so FUNDAMENTAL to Paul’s message, therefore to the church.
When I talked to the Russian people about tents, I believe it was the SEED of a solution to many obstacles throughout the CIS. God did not have me suggest that if He did not have plans for the evangelization of CIS. I think we should PRESS THE ISSUE.
Why could you two not be PACESETTERS, seizing the initiative, setting the example, providing the model for TENT MINISTRY evangelization in the CIS?
And then, why would there not arise a whole CORPS of tent preachers who would pave the way through the tough period (like an evangelizing army) raising up tens of thousands of believers.. like our early preachers did across the USA.
To promote a vision such as that, if you two SET THE PACE and prove its efficacy, you can establish…a challenging program of equipping proven, qualified CIS preachers who…would need BOOT-CAMP training, REAL INSTRUCTION and PREPARATION.
I just feel strongly impressed to talk to you like this. After all, there’s some reason why you two beautiful people…had such a vital part in our mission to CIS. Without you, we never could have done what we did. You have a heart for our hurting world.
Why have you gotten excited about the “tent” idea for Eastern Europe? WHO wants to do that? …God has chosen you. HE PUT IT IN YOUR HEARTS.
Why could you two not superintend a CORPS of Russian Tent Evangelism Preachers…? WHY NOT? I just believe God has moved me to write to you very strong like this. YOU ARE TOUGH …and God needs tough people like Paul and Peter, Priscilla and Acquilla — T.L. and Daisy Osborn. …YOU TWO CAN DO IT.”
Almost 20 years later, the vision described in the above letter and established during that very special season of our lives has produced a map dotted with evidence of countless lives, villages, cities impacted by the gospel. …Evidence of God’s faithfulness and of treasured partners and co-laborers in this Kingdom adventure!
We are immeasurably thankful both to God and to you, our faithful friends and partners. Please keep our MAP/bookmark at the forefront of your prayers. …And there’s more to come – as the Adventure expands! Thank you for faithfully supporting these vital missions.
