How Do We Unleash the Power of Imagination?

Part 3 of the Power of Imagination Series

How Do We Unleash the Power of Imagination? What is imagination?

Imagination is defined as the act or power of forming a mental image of something not present to the senses or never before wholly perceived in reality, according to Webster’s dictionary.

In 1 Samuel 17 a small, young David stood in front of a 9 foot giant, wholly unafraid! How did he do this? A mental image had formed in this young man’s mind. While tending his father’s sheep he had defeated a bear and a lion with his own hands. For him, this giant was just another enemy in his way.

Imagination levels the playing field when facing your giant!

David stepped forward with little more than a picture of victory and a few words in the face of two entire armies that had been listening to Goliath’s taunting for 40 days!

He said, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head (1 Samuel 17).”

So, what is your battle cry?

In the movie The Patriot, Mel Gibson picks up the American Flag and begins rushing into the battle through his own revolutionary army that is in total retreat. The sound of his voice and the image of the unfaltering flag arouses the entire army to charge the English and defeat the best standing army in the world. ONE VOICE! ONE IMAGE! Turned the tide of that battle.

What are you doing with the picture that is in your heart?  Your imagination is voice activated. Your thoughts become your words. Your words become your actions and your actions lead you to VICTORY!

You can rush headlong into battle when armed with the picture of who you are in Christ and the word of the Lord in your mouth! If God be for you, who can be against you!
