22 Oct EVANGELISM OF RUSSIA IS ALIVE AND WELL!
Folks, I’ve just returned from an amazing 5-year election meeting with ROSHVE, the Christian church organization that Kevin and I were a part of founding in 1997… I understand that it now has close to 3000 churches and hundreds of bishops and pastors. In fact, a report of the elections was carried in the number 1 newspaper in all of Russia!
I was privileged to speak at the meeting and deliver a simple message: “In order to know where we are headed – we must know where we came from!” ROSHVE was founded by a small group of leaders who were seeking answers and following prophetic instruction in an important time as new laws were requiring the church organizations to be re-registered! Two brothers Sergei & Vladimir Riakhovsky were, and remain, key in leading the Christians in both religious and legal matters! Their grandfather and other relatives were imprisoned for their faith!
While I was in Russia, Putin passed another “Good” law which requires that the Bible and the Koran no longer be viewed as extremist literature. This law follows two other laws recently passed which make it illegal to deface a religious church or service in any manner and an additional law that makes registration of Christian groups easier!
Russia is a Christian country that is making strong ties with the largest unreached territories in the earth — China, India and Southeast Asia.
I remember years ago, how the people of Russia would always say, the problems between our governments are just that: the problems between are governments – but we are people and we have never had anything against you!
Let us remember that there are still thousands of people awaiting a Gospel witness in the Russian-speaking world and THESE RUSSIANS HAVE A MANDATE TO TAKE THE GOSPEL TO THE LAST UNREACHED TERRITORIES! They are fulfilling Hudson Taylor’s prophecy of Russia bringing in the last great harvest!
Who could’ve guessed that we would be a part of this! Thank you for your prayers for all that we do together with the Russian-speaking people! They are the dearest of friends and spiritual leaders! I will post more from the meeting later!
