THE WONDERFUL HERITAGE OF LABOR DAY

02 Sep THE WONDERFUL HERITAGE OF LABOR DAY

labor-day-picLabor Day, established as a national holiday in 1894, honors the contributions that American workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of the United States. Initially it was a simply a street parade to exhibit the strength and esprit de corps of the labor force followed by a festival.  Later, by a resolution of the American Federation of Labor convention of 1909, the Sunday preceding Labor Day was adopted as Labor Sunday and dedicated to the spiritual and educational aspects of the labor force.

In this important time of decision in our country our prayer is that America once again may see its great ability to create jobs and protect jobs and to discover new and bright opportunities for every worker. There is no place like America! Individual dreams empowered by God have made this nation great. This Sunday, before our Labor Day rest, let us pray for our nation, our leaders, the media and our elections that all take on a voice of honesty, integrity, hope and vision for the future!

Our prayers are that you may have a great rest from your labors this weekend and for all of those affected by the recent floods and hurricane Hermine our thoughts and prayers are also with you!

Kevin, Leslie and all the Global Team of Christian Adventures!
