Where do I begin to articulate and capture my vision? Don’t be concerned about having a perfectly written or spoken vision statement or dream. The point is to capture the ideas as you meditate on the following questions. We will refine your vision statement in later exercises.
Test Your Dream
What resources are required for making my dream a reality? Find the facts that give you the price tag of your dream and define the required resources for making your dream a reality. Enthusiasm can only carry you for a while, but facts will carry you across the finish line.
Instilling Vision in Others.
How do I transfer my dream to others? Understanding the importance of drawing others to your vision – of clarifying your dream and making it TRANSFERABLE, MEMORABLE and MOTIVATIONAL! Your vision statement must be crafted to identify your destination, purpose and values.
Refining Your Vision Statement.
What makes a well-crafted vision statement? Polishing your vision statement is vital, because vision-casting can be done by good communicators but dream-casting can only be done by people who live and breathe their dream.
Your Dream Team.
Is going-it-alone a good idea? Developing your Dream Team. John Maxwell says that having a “10” dream and a “2” team is a recipe for chaos! Isolation is the enemy of many a dream and the elephant in the room for many a dreamer.
Let Time Be Your Friend.
Is my daily routine fueling my progress? Recognize that time is an ally. Most dreams are not lost to economic circumstance or unbelief, but time without evidence of fulfillment brings discouragement.
As you embark upon your dream, remember this – as a wonderfully kind Australian pastor once challenged me, always (regularly) make time to work, worship, rest & play! Learn to establish rhythms in your life for true success and prosperity. You will need these in order to go the distance! No orchestra ever created a masterful symphony without first tuning the instruments.
