The Heart of the Master

16 Aug The Heart of the Master

My good friend has a precious little dog named Suzy that at mealtimes often sits quietly waiting beside the dinner table. Both Suzy and her master know she is not to beg, especially while guests are present. Yet the dog waits patiently for just one morsel that might fall from the table. I note that most often the master of the house somehow happens to drop just a few crumbs onto the floor. Why? The heart of the master is to care for everyone in the house.

How much more are we to be considered greater than the mere dogs that beg for scraps, when each one of us who has called on the name of Jesus has been redeemed to sit at the table with Him, our Master?
