01 Jul Independence Day
Like many people I am at the home of relatives today, looking forward to some barbecue and fireworks at the local small town square. This is a day to remember what our forefathers were signing when they put their signatures on the Declaration of Independence, at the risk of their own life, house, and fortune, in the belief that it was the right thing to do for future generations. Many of them paid the ultimate price for that signature.
We as Christians celebrate the ultimate freedom from the tyranny of sin that kept us in the dark and on a path of eternal destruction. We celebrate the opportunity to live free from the negative forces that diminish what life was meant for. We have been reconnected to the unseen source of blessings, strength, and power that makes us a success. Now we are free to cut a path in life that will fulfill us. Each of us is a pioneer on his or her own adventure, with potential to go where no one has gone before.
When Cortez arrived in Mexico with his 600 men, he burned all 11 of his ships. His mates were mad at him, but he left one ship for those who could not look forward. They all decided to stay and conquer instead of return to their past life, so the final ship was burned. They choose a future not based on the past. Let’s use this Independence Day to sign our name to the paper of our future, regardless of the danger or loss we might experience in the process.
I feel our destiny here is to connect the Gospel to the remaining 70 nations, republics, and oblasts of the former Soviet Union. More than 100 Gospel tents and teams will pioneer that new world.
Our destiny is to connect the West with the East through the emerging Eurasian Center in Moscow, giving an opportunity to those who want to make a difference in the open fields.
Our destiny is to connect the outstanding new evangelists with the fields of the world that Leslie and I have had the privilege to speak to on the great platforms of World Evangelism.
Our destiny is to go from shore to shore as we finish the new World Headquarters in Daytona Beach. It will be a place of peace to the lost, aid to the needy, resource to the world, education to the next generation, and miracles for America.
I believe we are destined to connect the people with resources to the place of best investment for the Kingdom of God. Jesus said there are different types of soil that yield different results. We are not rewarded in heaven for the work of Christ to save us, but we are rewarded as a result of what we do with what He has done for us. This is proven ground that we can see producing those things that Jesus began to do, and that we are called to continue.
Rejoice in your freedom that allows you to dream, and let’s celebrate our Independence Day and what it means!
Kevin
